Default Giuliani could face jail time if he doesn't pay his ex-wife $235K

Rudy Giuliani has been ordered to pony up $235,000 to his ex-wife or face the possibility of jail time.

The former New York City mayor skipped a court hearing Friday and was held in contempt of court by Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Michael Katz, the New York Post reported. If he doesn't cough up $235,000 by Oct. 7, he could face time behind bars.

If the amount is not paid by that date, I’m going to be forced — unfortunately, because it’s not something I want to do — I’m going to be forced to remand the defendant into custody,” Katz warned, per the report.

Giuliani's former wife Judith filed a lawsuit contending that he fell behind on payments for their divorce settlement. After Rudy Giuliani failed to show up to the hearing to rebuff his former wife's claims, the judge issued a judgment ordering him to pay $225,000 in addition to $10,000 worth of attorney fees, according to the report.

He also agreed to pay her $200,000 for a property they owned together. In her suit, Judith Giuliani purportedly said he owed $262,000. So far, he has reportedly paid $45,000.

As infuriating as this guy was during all of the 2020 election challenges, I find that when I see his name now, I just feel sad.

Here's someone whose legacy was spectacular after 9/11. "America's Mayor." And he was a genuinely great mayor for NYC, and amazing during that crisis.

Like so many people who hitch their wagon to Trump, his career and reputation are now trashed. He's a joke, and his legacy will reflect that.

This is the least of Rudy's problems. He is going to jail. Mike Lindell is going to jail. Sydney Powell is going to jail. John Eastman is going to jail. Kelli Ward is going to jail. The fake electors in every state are going to jail. That's just for starters.

At least Rudy will have company. Has there ever been a more corrupt, criminal administration that Donald Trump's? No need to answer, it's rhetorical.
