No, it's not. The FBI looted an estimated $68 million from those safety deposit boxes. They opened every box in the facility and emptied it. They didn't press charges against anyone afterwards. They fucked lots and lots of innocent people. The FBI shouldn't be able to get a search warrant that allows them to open hundreds of safety deposit boxes without specific reasons to do so for each and every box they opened.
If they suspected someone of criminal activity, they could have found out which box was that person's and tailored a search warrant to open that specific box.
This short of shit used to happen in Arizona, but the legislature here passed a law requiring law enforcement to go to court after such a confiscation and hold a hearing where the person who had their shit confiscated gets a say, before they can keep it. If they don't, they're required to return the confiscated items. The Arizona law put the onus on law enforcement to prove that the confiscation was justified, not the person that had their stuff taken.
