Travel well my good man
Jean-Luc Godard, the daringly innovative director and provocateur whose unconventional camera work, disjointed narrative style and penchant for radical politics changed the course of filmmaking in the 1960s, leaving a lasting influence on it, died on Tuesday at his home in Rolle, Switzerland. He was 91.
A master of epigrams as well as of movies, Mr. Godard once observed, “A film consists of a beginning, a middle and an end, though not necessarily in that order.”

Where would I be without this man?
EXACTLY where I am now.

Well, my government tested IQ is 125.
So I am not dumb.
But - knock yourself out...if you wish.
And what is wrong with having sexual relations with a woman who happens to also be a mother?
Additionally, if you are referring to my mother?
She died when I was 25.
And no one adopted me since then.
So I cannot be a 'motherfucker' in that sense.
You know?
If you are going to use ad hominem's?
You might want to try and put a little more effort into them.
Might make you seem more intelligent.
Oh..and weren't you the guy/gal who started a thread about proper debating etiquette/technique?
Seems you refuse to take your own advice.
As for this old fart who croaked?
Directors are STAGGERINGLY overrated.
And besides?
If his claim to fame is new types of filming techniques?
That is probably more down to his Director of Photography in those movies.
Not him.
Soooo...what will your next thread be?
'How to be more tolerant of your fellow man/woman'?
During which?
You will proceed to toss ad hominem's at anyone who dares to rain on your parade?
You are a strange, strange person.
Adios.
For once I agree with you. Godard, Truffault and Chabrot initiated the Nouvelle Vague of French cinema.
"The 400 Blows," with Godard's "Breathless" (1960) and Chabrol's "Le Beau Serge," inaugurated the French New Wave and changed the face and style of filmmaking almost overnight. But we don't remember "The 400 Blows" for historical reasons; we remember it because, for many of us, it was our first taste of personal, almost intimate, filmmaking.
