trump did not enter the church building, but for trump to stand on church property, outside the church, the Secret Service needed to control the church. The church clergy refused to leave the premise to give them control, so the military was brought in to remove the clergy.

Using the military to threaten clergy and seizing control of a church... No word on why trump could not cross the thresholds of a church building, but the possibility he would burst into flames should not be discounted.

That's been long refuted. The plans to clear out the area happened well before anyone knew of any plan to visit the church. They did it in order to put up better fencing to deal with security threats from the protestors. The church visit occurred later and was not the cause of the clearing:
