Pelosi's visit to Taiwan was a 'thoroughly planned provocation' - Putin

Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Tuesday that Western countries were seeking to extend a "NATO-like system" into the Asia-Pacific region.

Delivering the welcome address at the Moscow international security conference, Putin said that the United States was trying to "drag out" the conflict in Ukraine, and that US House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi's visit to Taiwan earlier this month had been "a thoroughly planned provocation."

That's saying the purpose of the trip was to make the Russians angry, only secondary, if at all, to show support for Taiwan. It's the attitude of a hurt child.

It was intended to anger the Chinese so that their response could be evaluated. The response appears to be that the Chinese will attempt to militarily obliterate anybody attempting to get between Taiwan and Beijing.

It wasn't necessary to dangle the Pelosi lure in order to determine that. We are led by fools.

Pelosi and the administration well knew it wasn't. Another group of Congessmen were scheduled to visit Taiwan sometime soon if they haven't already left. Again, it will not be a diplomatic mission aimed at pissing people off.

That will be the end result- as anybody can see- so it must also be the intent.
