Take your own advice.
The COVID-19 virus does not mutate (it is not alive).
... but it's not. COVID-19 (SARS-CoV-2) is a specific virus within the greater coronavirus family of viruses. You need to specify what you are talking about. That's how English works.
I'm not stupid. You are. As to whether or not a virus is alive, it depends on what your definition of life is. A thing that is alive can replicate itself. A virus can only replicate itself inside a host cell. I say that if it can replicate itself in any way, it is alive. Also, it is made up of the same sorts of things as living cells. So that makes something different from a rock. Which is even further from what we would consider to be alive. Neither is is some chemical reaction. A virus is far more complex than some chemical molecule. So all in all, a virus is alive.
Next, living things can mutate. So can a virus. That also makes it a living thing. If you don't think viruses can mutate, read this.

Next, I have heard many doctors on the news refer to COVID-19 as the coronavirus. Generally speaking, there is just no need to get any more specific than that. With all that has happened with this particular plague, when somebody says "coronavirus," what is it that you think they are talking about. Are they not being specific enough for you to figure it out?

Yes, you are.
Projection.
A virus is not alive.
A virus is not alive and it cannot cause itself to replicate. It requires a host to replicate.
A virus cannot cause itself to replicate. It requires a host to replicate.
A virus cannot cause itself to replicate in any way (it requires a host to replicate). A virus is not alive.
Meh.
Gibberbabble.
Gibberbabble is not a proof (nor is it a valid predicate).
Circular Argument Fallacy. Viruses are not alive.
Holy link dismissed on sight. Viruses cannot mutate on their own (a host is required in order for mutations to occur).
Anyone who refers to COVID-19 as "the coronavirus" is a moron.
It is gibberbabble. There is no such thing as "the coronavirus", as numerous different coronaviruses exist. Additional specification is needed.
They are talking about a particular family of viruses (which contains numerous different "family members").
Correct. They aren't. They need to specify which coronavirus they are referring to, as there are numerous different coronaviruses.
