While I already knew how electricity was produced, I learned about the economics of it as well. Solar and wind suck bigtime and you, and I, will be unable to afford electricity if it is pushed hard like the Greentards want. Nuclear and natural gas + hydrogen or ammonia as a portable fuel are the near-term solutions that work. In the long run, let's hope somebody figures out fusion. That'll be the next great leap forward in energy.

My efforts to stop Prop 127 got me actual hate mail from some of the Greentards. I kept those. They read like some of the worst ranting profanity, and misspelled posts here do.

So, there may be a lot of stuff I don't know a lot about, I do know a lot about energy and what works and what doesn't.

My sister in law is a retired mechanical engineer. She did her Master's thesis on wind and solar power. It proved it was the most expensive energy that we produce.

And then when you start to look at the historical costs of electricity in those countries we don't see a large increase in prices as solar and wind are added.

For Denmark, the prices have stayed steady until we see a drop during Covid, and then a spike in prices after Covid. The only reason for the spike is that Denmark had to add back in fossil fuels. That would seem to show that renewables are cheaper and fossil fuels are more expensive.

OMG.. So she is retired and did her master's thesis before she started working so she proved that 40 years ago wind and solar were expensive. Maybe you should join the rest of us in 2022.

They're not. Denmark's electricity costs per KWH rose dramatically after adopting wind and solar, just as other country's have. They then stay elevated. California's cost per KWH has risen as more wind and solar were adopted. It's inevitable given the need to duplicate generation and the unreliability of those two sources.

Really? Can you tell us which year Denmark's electricity costs rose dramatically?
