We don't live in Stalinist Russia. The head of state does not authorize arrests or searches.

Criminal investigation by America's law enforcement agencies are conducted independently of Biden's approval.

If you accept what has been reported by CNN and Newsweek, this is unfrigginbelivable.

Biden said he was "blindsided" by the raid and had no foreknowledge:

The White House was “blindsided” by the stunning news that the FBI had executed a search warrant on Mar-A-Lago, the Palm Beach, Florida home of former President Donald Trump, reported CNN.
CNN Chief White House Correspondent Kaitlan Collins reported on the story during AC360, with guest host John Berman, calling it a “remarkable development” to see Trump himself confirming the news.

That's bad enough but then today we learn that, according to Newsweek, the feckless PTA mom-hunting Attorney General of the US claims he had no foreknowledge of the raid:
The story’s sources also claim AG Garland had “no prior knowledge” of the raid, which would be flabbergasting, if true. I’m really struggling to believe that. If it’s true, it’s an absolute mess.
    — Guy Benson (@guypbenson) August 10, 2022

    And the raid?

… “senior government officials say the raid was scheduled with no political motive, the FBI solely intent on recovering highly classified documents that were illegally removed from the White House.”
    — Guy Benson (@guypbenson) August 10, 2022

    Baloney

Last night I saw a clip from CNN in which one of their normally anti-Trump former intelligence "experts" said there's no way retention of classified documents get you "anywhere near" the President's home with a warrant.

Now we have two ways to look at this. Either both Garland and Biden are lying their asses off and throwing the FBI under the bus, which is where it really belongs or neither Biden nor Garland knew had advance warning of the raid and the FBI went rogue on its own. Either one makes for a colossal cluster. Warrants are supposed to be limited in nature. If an informant told the FBI where to look and for what, that should be specified in the warrant and nothing else should have been touched. But that wasn't the case. The removal of the Trump lawyers from the premises as it was being searched was wrong, but it does something precious for Trump. Trump can now, since there were no observers, claim that anything found in his home that might be incriminating was planted by the FBI- especially since it was acting without the knowledge of the President or the Attorney General.

So Garland, Wray and Biden were all totally surprised....
If it is true it's just proof that Biden is asleep at the wheel. More likely is he was told and his memory has failed him like so many other dementia patients.

If true it is just proof that Biden is running the government the way he is supposed. Presidents are not supposed to decide who will get arrested or who will have a warrant to search their home.

The fact that you think running the government the correct way is evidence of dementia would seem to point ot evidence of your dementia since you can't remember how the government is supposed to function.

There is a difference between being aware of and authorising. One would think that a raid on your former opponent and presumed future opponent would rise to the level of being informed at the very least..

There is a debatable question on who actually owns them.

The President is supposed to get a heads up on things like this in his daily briefing. I guess Biden was having his diaper changed cand misses it.

No. There isn't much of a debate unless you are trying to claim the law doesn't exist when it clearly does.

The President is supposed to be told what warrants have been issued in Florida in his daily briefing? Care to tell us if that occurred when Trump was President.

Well first his having them isn't proof of his having stolen them. Next yesterday someone posted an article that said the National Archive arranged to have them sent to trump.
