I like hyping good news instead of trying to talk the economy down.

Good news can lead to more good news. Confidence is a huge factor in or economy. There is CERTAINLY no guarantee that the "damage is done." If hiring continues and inflation ticks down, it can stave off the worst expectations. We may still have a Recession - but there is no reason it can't be a mild one.

when I say that the damage is done, i'm talking about all of the people who lost everything, or almost everything. people are being laid off, losing homes or apartments.......some are finding themselves underwater with new homes they bought.......
A sad commentary on we, as a people, and our viewpoint of our freedom can be summed up like this. We have liberals and conservatives, Democrats and Republicans, yet those very people look at Constitutionalists as radical and extreme.................so those liberals and conservatives, Democrats and Republicans must believe that the constitution is radical and extreme.

Not likely. The Fed is still printing money as fast as it can with no corresponding increase in wealth.

No, Democrats don't get to dictate the Republican platform.

The government has no credibility on jobs numbers, and you watch how fast gas prices go up after the election.

It's a shifty site. If you go to this page and compare trump with all the other presidents, the only one who beats him is Clinton. That doesn't make any sense and the presidents go back to Truman.

US refineries have not been getting their needed downtime and maintenance....but that is FINE AND DANDY with the Revolution, the coming big price increases on low production as refineries are finally forced to go offline (We hope without catastrophic fires first) is exactly what they want.

Wake the fuck up people, you should be embarrassed to be such chumps.

As I understand it producers have been running at close to full capacity so there's not a lot of extra supply sitting there. Someone better versed in the industry than I can speak to this but my understanding is some of the refineries have to be taken off line periodically to be worked on, which could happen this fall, which hurts supply. Point being it's no guarantee that prices won't go back up.

More jobs are great (they are also a lagging economic indicator but that is a separate discussion) but if inflation is making people (feel) poorer then they aren't exactly in a celebratory mood.

To get the very low approval ratings Biden has takes far more than just Republicans disliking his job performance.
Wait, you mean when things cost more, people buy less? Who'da thunk?

Inflation is making people feel 'poorer' because someone told them they should feel that way. It's so completely overblown it's gotten laughable. Family of four. Average cost of living in 2021 was 7,095 a month. Median income was less (meaning most families couldn't even afford the average). THAT is the problem in a nutshell. If inflation was zero, it would STILL be the problem. We have a wage/wealth gap that has continued to grow since 1980. One party wants to fix it, the other doesn't. Can't get much simpler than that.
