We will already have the worst maternal mortality rate in the industrial world. Where a typical country has three mortality out of 100,000 live births, while the USA has a mortality rate of 17 (more than five times higher). States like Alabama, Arkansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi and Tennessee, are becoming illegal, already had mortality rates above 30. They will get much worse.

There are about 3.6 million births per year in the USA. If the mortality rate goes up by 10, there will be 3,600 more women that die. If you think abortion is murder, that might not be a lot of deaths. There might be about 600,000 abortions per year, and anti-abortion laws in some states might reduce the number of abortions by 10%. That would be 60,000 fetuses (or "unborn babies" as the Republicans call them). Maybe 3,600 women dying is worth saving 60,000...

But we should not lie. This is going to kill women.

It appears based on a act of President Biden at ensuring women have the reproductive healthcare they need in other states, and based on states' rights that continue to maintain the element of Roe vs Wade, it appears women are safe in Kansas as a result of a general consensus there shoring up its state constitution and kicking the seditious part of SCOTUS in the ass at it disgracing a SCOTUS ruling over 50 years ago that legalized Roe vs Wade.

There have already been quite a few cases where there will never be a live birth, but it will hurt the health of the mother to carry the pregnancy to term. The woman happens to be in the wrong state, and must leave that state in a hurry to get an abortion in another state. That is the definition of fleeing.

Well, you are just plain wrong. There is no other way to say this. We will never know the percent of abortions in England that saved the life of the mother, because there is no requirement to discover that number. More importantly, ectopic pregnancies are not far less than 0.1% of abortions.

About 2% of pregnancies are ectopic, or more accurately: 1.97%. In all of recorded history, there has never been a case that ectopic pregnancy has led to a live birth. It just is not going to happen. There is a chance that without an abortion, the mother will live, but that is often with scaring that will cause infertility, and long term health problems. And death is also a likely outcome.

Part of the problem here is that people with no understanding of medicine are trying to make draconian laws against doctors.
