If he was *really* convinced about the invalidity of the election, why didn't he evade the security officers and confront his people directly instead of running and hiding like a frightened fawn?

While I agree he knows the Big Lie was a lie, I also think that's a separate issue. He was running because he knows the low quality of people attacking the Capitol: Qless nutjobs being herded by violent, armed White Supremacist Extremists (WSE) who were bent on executing members of Congress.

IMO, he didn't want to become a victim of "friendly fire" when the WSEs began shooting and/or hanging Congressional reps.

He's the same impotent pansy who moaned and cried about the horrors of a small group of protesters holding a candlelight vigil in front of his (not in Missouri) residence in Virginia. They terrified his wife by placing a copy of the Constitution on the front porch then withdrew. Wife called the police who did nothing since they were not breaking the law, but peacefully praying.
