Just below all of the lies being pushed by Trumpers is the disturbing conflict between Free Speech and people who push lies to harm others. This is a major problem since Free Speech is a cornerstone of our democracy. How do we keep speech free yet shut down obvious lies?
To be clear; a lie isn't just a differing opinion. It's a lie. A falsehood which can be demonstrably proved to be false such as Trump's Big Lie. The leaders who pushed it knew it was a lie, but the fucking retards on JPP still believe it.
While it's clear the Trump traitors pushing the Big Lie should be prosecuted, what about the dumbasses on JPP who believe it and repeat it? Like the Qless who attacked the Capitol on 1/6, they truly believe their leaders told them the truth. IMO, them repeating the lie is free speech because they believe it due to the legitimate source declaring it to be true. How do we fix that problem?
One solution is to let it go...but only to a point. All sane people now know the Big Lie was a lie. That Trump lied, violated his oath and attempted to steal the election with force. Now that the truth is out, all those who keep pushing the Big Lie are either criminals or mentally incompetent. Either way, I think they should be arrested and face court to determine if jail or a mental institution is better for them.
