Default Missing the point on mass shootings.

The connection that seems to elude every gun nut is not one between guns and random sorts of victims or between guns and the mere availability of other types of weapons. It is the connection between a certain kind of gun and a certain kind of killer. Almost every mass killing in the United States is with an AR-15 by a white male under the age of 25, usually under the age of 20. Why is this? With the gun it is because the AR-15 has both repetitive firepower and a great macho look. With the killer it is because 1) he is hungry for that firepower and hungry for that great macho look and 2) as an angry and desperate type of young white male he is uniquely prone to having this hunger.

I've been told multiple times that an AR-15 is no more powerful than a comparable hunting rifle. You know, long barrel wood grain stock, etc. I believe that's true to an extent, but why don't we see those being used in attacks like this?

    The connection is psychological.

Well, if they really wanted to look "macho" (because birthing persons never use firearms), they could just post a picture with it.

Something like 1% of firearm deaths are caused by long rifles.

The Va Tech shooter killed the most people in a school shooting, and he used handguns.

It is a tool with a purpose.

We don't want that purpose in our society.

If we allow it, this is what we get.

Black Americans need semis to defend their homes and families from the "epidemic of white supremacy" lynching mobs.

Why do White libs hate Black Americans soooo much? They already took away police protection from minority neighborhoods.

we DO want that purpose in our society. If we don't allow it, we end up looking like chicago..........the whole country.
A sad commentary on we, as a people, and our viewpoint of our freedom can be summed up like this. We have liberals and conservatives, Democrats and Republicans, yet those very people look at Constitutionalists as radical and extreme.................so those liberals and conservatives, Democrats and Republicans must believe that the constitution is radical and extreme.

    "We."

    "We" don't want it?

I want it and have one.

It's purpose for me is to hunt deer and target shooting and protection of everyone in my home.

Read Heller vs. DC and see if the Second Amendment allows it.

Carry of hand guns, too, all confirmed by the Supreme Court. See NY decision.

If you don't like the Second Amendment, try another country...Cuba...Venezuela...they don't have a Second Amendment.

Yes, we need to study this connection. I agree.. .was it designed to attract this type of person? What is the connection, does it represent some kind of power that is missing in these little Trumppers lives? Is it because it gives the impotent person instant power without working for it?

The Supreme Court ruled 6-3 on June 23 that New York's concealed carry law was unlawful, finding its restrictions on who could obtain a license violated the Fourteenth Amendment by stopping “law-abiding citizens with ordinary self-defense needs” from practicing their Second Amendment right to bear arms.

Anyone needing a link, just ask.

What happened in Heller vs DC?
Heller, case in which the U.S. Supreme Court on June 26, 2008, held (5–4) that the Second Amendment guarantees an individual right to possess firearms independent of service in a state militia and to use firearms for traditionally lawful purposes, including self-defense within the home.

No, dummy, it's because the Second allows it.

    Do you understand now?
