Agreed. That's my point; they won't agree to a tax increase either. So which one is the most likely to be supported by American voters? Banning things? Telling them they can't be trusted to make their own decisions? Or providing a better future for their kids with better healthcare and education? Healthcare including mental healthcare and testing.
Not a father, only a grandfather, but it seems to me that it's better to provide the best future as possible for my grandkids. Education and good health, both physical and mental, are the building blocks of what they need to become solid, tax-paying Americans building a better future for their own kids. All the banning shit seems a step backwards to me.
NEither will happen, but a temporary ban on these weapons would work to get us to a place where we can make some changes. We used to have a ban on assault rifles.
