GOP Megadonors Are Finally Ditching Trump After Jan. 6 Hearings
All it took was a series of bombshell revelations about Trump’s attempt to subvert democracy,

    https://apple.news/AekhgZYYzSUKpgWzLPsVIRQ

Some of the Republican Party’s wealthiest donors have finally ditched former President Donald Trump and are instead opening their checkbooks for other potential 2024 candidates like former Vice President Mike Pence and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, CNBC reports, citing interviews with multiple fundraisers. The catalyst was not the Jan. 6 insurrection but the cascading bombshells coming out of the public hearings held by the House committee probing the riot. After a former aide testified Tuesday that Trump tried to strangle a Secret Service agent, one Republican donor who gave generously in 2020 told CNBC, “I don’t think any major donor with business interests would support a Trump presidential run after today’s hearing.” Even real estate pals in New York are having second thoughts after he took “major hits” during the hearings, the report says. Trump nevertheless has a track record of raising vast amounts from small donations.
Judge Juan M. Merchan wrote that Trump “appears to take the position that his situation and this case are unique and that the pre-trial publicity will never subside. However, this view does not align with reality.”

Yep. The Cult is always eager and willing to give the so-called "billionaire" more of their hard-earned money. The ex-Grifter-in-Chief can always shake another dollar or 10 out of them.

GOP is turning on Trump. He's old news. He's damaged goods. He's radioactive. He can't win.
J6 committee has damaged his brand permanently.

The truly sad thing is that these “megadonors” or even “MAGAdonors” are truly disinterested in anything but where all the billions in lobbyists’ work has controlled the GOP for the last twenty or so years. They merely intend to review where their financial investment lies, and then redirect donations to the next easily controlled scumbag with a big mouth.

To be perfectly correct, he damaged his own brand. They're merely the messengers.

It's interesting to me that when Obama was halfway through his second term, the Reichwing whackjobs were predicting that he would do something crazy in order to stay in office. Declare martial law using the BLM riots as an excuse was one scenario. Yet which #IMPOTUSx2 actually DID try illegally to stay in power? Hmmm.

He's a traitor and a wannabe tyrant. It's good that he's losing support. Now the law will be free to prosecute the guilty.

Nobody else will be as horrible as Trump. I'm hoping Kinzinger runs for Prez as an independent. Maybe get Liz Cheney on the ticket as well. I think they could win it.

Although I respect Kinzinger, Cheney is more experienced and would make a better President, IMO.

Unfortunately, the way our system is set up, it's a Zero Sum Game; there are only two parties so if a third party rises, a major party must fall.

Look at the Whigs and who took their place.
