China is late stage Socialism. Sadly, the Orwellian Left has changed the meaning of communism ... from dissolution of gov't to its opposite ... socialist dictatorship. These Orwellian changes to language make it more difficult to discuss the issues because we can not even agree on the meanings of words.
Russia is a socialist aristocracy. The oligarchs are under the thumb of the State.

Socialism is just the modern word for monarchy.
D.C. has become a Guild System with an hierarchy and line of accession much like the Royal Court or priestly classes.
Private citizens are perfectly able of doing a better job without "apprenticing".
