Default "New York Governor to call special session after SCOTUS gun decision"

"NEW YORK — Gov. Kathy Hochul called a Supreme Court ruling striking down a strict New York gun law “frightful in its scope”

"Hochul vowed to quickly call state lawmakers back into session to pass new legislation in response to the decision, which reverses a law that places certain limits on who can carry firearms in public."

"“We are also going to change the permitting process,” she said. “We are also going to create a higher threshold for those who want to receive a concealed carry permit. We are going to require training involved and also that they have specific firearm training, and I believe that we are going to be finding a way to create a system where the default position is for a private business that a concealed carry is not allowed unless they affirmatively offer the right to someone to come in with a concealed carry.”

"“If the federal government will not have sweeping laws to protect us, then our states and our governors have a moral responsibility to do what we can and have laws that protect our citizens,” Hochul said, condemning the “insanity of the gun culture that has now possessed everyone, all the way up even to the Supreme Court.”

With the SCOTUS decision, the gun advocates just might have opened an entire new can of worms they are going to have to deal with now, "We are also going to create a higher threshold for those who want to receive a concealed carry permit."

And whatever New York passes, which they will, the six other States this decision effects, those with lower gun violence rates, will certainly model their legislation

With so many serious issues, we're still talking about one about which the constitution allows no remedy.

    You live in America.
Most other countries won't have you because Americans are largely despised.
Learn to live in a perpetual gunfight because that's your destiny.

Go for universal healthcare or women's rights or stronger unions. Those are real issues.

Not willing to accept the possible reality of "living in a perpetual gunfight," especially when common sense shows us a way out, in time, after enough mass shootings, school kids getting slaughtered, and just pissed off people shooting those that pissed them off, America will wake up and realize this isn't Tombstone

concealed carry permits holders are not a source of crime.
It's the illegal guns. Charge people and lock them up if necessary and the problem greatly reduces

May sure prosecutors and DAs prosecute gun violence and lock people away. Stop letting people out like Gascon does.

The Scotus just expanded the rights of law Abiding citizens, and the White LibSocs immediately try to take them away.

The DemSocs defund the police in minority neighborhoods, and tell the Blacks and Hispanics to fend for themselves against violent criminals. Of course poor law abiding minorities should have the right to legally conceal carry.

    Poor anchovies,

A higher threshold is better than having to pay off some fat asses politicians to even get considered for a permit. I am reading into this that democrat governors hate those that can't afford to pay for a "higher threshold" so they will make sure they are denied.
Why do Democrats want to disenfranchise the poor?

No guns are illegal is where we're going, though.
I'm not saying if that's good or bad, but that's where the SCOTUS is going.

A sad commentary on we, as a people, and our viewpoint of our freedom can be summed up like this. We have liberals and conservatives, Democrats and Republicans, yet those very people look at Constitutionalists as radical and extreme.................so those liberals and conservatives, Democrats and Republicans must believe that the constitution is radical and extreme.

I am getting a weapon next week and I am going to get authorized to conceal carry. I'm not going to be the last unarmed person in America.

Shit, the Republicans have turned this into a real life WestWorld.
