What Americans don't want, and what isn't American, is heavy handed government control over their lives, being forced to accept, act, and believe things handed down from a central authority, and being forced to fork over their hard-earned wealth to anyone by force of government.
Americans are traditionally very generous and philanthropic, unlike say Europeans who assume government will provide. Americans are far more self-reliant and open to cultural differences so long as these move towards a single view that adopts the best of those cultures tossing aside what doesn't work. That's a major reason Americans have resisted Socialism and a strong central government for so long--they don't fucking work!
Ah Yes, Old America.....Dead America.
I choose my own words like the Americans of olden times........before this dystopia arrived.
