There's consensus. Neither is true, but they won't bunk any opposition.

The MSM for the most part parrots a narrow selection of news items and will usually studiously ignore others that don't fit their narrative. In the last week or so, with regards to mass shootings, if you watched CNN or MSNBC, all you'd get is the Buffalo shooting. Doesn't matter that like half-a-dozen other ones took place--mostly Black on Black. Those are ignored other than maybe the briefest mention right after it happened. Beyond that, they disappear.
CNN or MSNBC are not mainstream media. They are cable news networks like Fox and Newsmax and One America News that target people who are not interested in information but reinforcement of their partisan views. Nobody is informed who relies on cable news---they are very limited in topics covered with very little depth.

Stick to quality, creditable news accounts and you will know about all the stuff you listed above--anti-maskers, alternative medications for COVID, and Russian collusion. The difference is they don't limit themselves to one partisan view.

For example, reputable sources did not claim there was Russian collusion but that the accusations were made and being investigated. Then, while the partisan media was either attacking or supporting the Mueller report, the reputable media was reporting the results: there was no collusion but there was Russian interference in the election.

Trump made up the "collusion" nonsense, deliberately. He knew Mueller was investigating criminal conspiracy.
