Default we are at war with Russia

U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said Monday in Kyiv that
Washington wants to see Russian forces “weakened to the degree that it can’t do the kinds of things that it has done in invading Ukraine.”
    https://www.bloomberg.com/news/artic...ne-talks-go-on

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov warned there’s a “serious” risk of nuclear war over Ukraine in a statement the U.S. blasted as the “height of irresponsibility.”

“The danger is serious, real. It can’t be underestimated,” Lavrov said in a state TV interview broadcast late Monday. Invoking the Cuban missile crisis of 1962, when the U.S. and the Soviet Union came close to nuclear war, he said that Moscow and Washington had understood the rules of conduct between the superpowers but “now there are few rules left.”

Russia will continue negotiations with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy’s representatives to try to reach a peace agreement, Lavrov said.
It would be “useful” to hold discussions with the U.S. too, “but we don’t observe any interest on their part regarding contacts on Ukraine or on other issues.” Both sides have said the talks are at a dead end.

The Russian foreign minister’s comments were downplayed by U.K. Prime Minister Boris Johnson, who told TalkTV that Moscow wants “to present this as a confrontation between Russia and the West and Russia and NATO. That is emphatically not what is going on.”

Lavrov’s comment came after U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said Monday in Kyiv that
Washington wants to see Russian forces “weakened to the degree that it can’t do the kinds of things that it has done in invading Ukraine.”
The U.S. announced additional military aid for Ukraine as the war enters its 62nd day with Russian and Ukrainian armies facing off in the eastern Donbas region, where Moscow has regrouped its forces after failing to take Kyiv early in the invasion.

Austin finally came out and said this war is no longer about defending Ukraine. It's about "weakening Russia"-going after Russian forces with the purpose of degrading their military

We view and treat this confrontation as a chance to take on Russia.
we train them arm them and it's NOT about simply helping Uk defend itself
Full scale proxy war with no set limitations can easily lead to tactical nukes
Russia has them and is now warning they might use them since NATO is going all in on "weakening" Russia

The idiots (and big mouth Biden) told Putin he's a dead man walking already, what does he have to lose?
Common sense is not a gift, it's a punishment because you have to deal with everyone who doesn't have it.

Pentagon chief’s Russia remarks show shift in US’s declared aims in Ukraine
    https://www.theguardian.com/world/20...austin-ukraine
ustin was asked if he would now define US goals differently from those set out soon after the Russian invasion. In response, he started out with the established administration line about helping Ukraine retain its sovereignty and defend its territory.

Then Austin added a second goal: “We want to see Russia weakened to the degree that it can’t do the kinds of things that it has done in invading Ukraine.” That meant Russia should “not have the capability to very quickly reproduce” the forces and equipment that had been lost in Ukraine.

that's the "cornered animal analogy" and yes its correct "what does he have to lose"
But the USA isn't just talking about defending Ukraine

The "shift in strategy" is now to permanently "degrade" Russia's military

Blinken, who travelled with Austin to see Volodymyr Zelenskiy in Kyiv, agreed with his formulation of US objectives, saying: “I think the secretary said it very well”.

Who's we? It appears, there is no direct war with Russia but a means to defend sovereign nations that pose no threat to Russia as a result of a barbaric nature to invade nations at its own whim. I hope tRump and treasonous repukes are eating their hides inside and out as a result of crushing their efforts to wage their own war against America and the common decency of humanity on Earth. This as a result of erasing tRump's un-American atrocity to give tyrannical nations that advantage over civilized societies at being incapable of either supporting or co-existing in a civilized society too.

The only way to reduce the 2nd. most powerful country's military to becoming incapable of invading a small country is to eliminate their weapons. That would be difficult.

Ukraine is no threat to Russia. At this point, I doubt they want anything from Russia besides go back home.

Good thing you and Trump don't have a voice in government anymore, because we would still be French kissing Vlad's ass.

Unless there are American Howitzer crews (and guns) in Ukraine, or on the Europe side of Ukraine's border actively raining high explosives down like Thor's hammer on Putin's Army, along with mortar fire and airstrikes, The US is not at war with Russia.

The Russia/Ukraine problem has to be settled between them. I think Putin has seriously fucked up his legacy. Yeah, he "liberated" millions of Ukrainians right out of their homes, jobs, food, and water.

Innocent civilians, too. what a fucking penis wrinkle.

You want to go to war against Russia (as do US officials) for .. what was it?? European democracy?
You do realize that is straight out of the neocon playbook "spread democracy at the barrel of a gun"

At least you are honest about it, congrats on becoming a full fledged warmonger.

This is the USA leading a long term proxy war against Russia.
US officials are out front - not even denying it
At least the cards are on the table..

is there any reason Russia shouldn't use a low yield nuke now that we are threatening their military?

Yeah, because us, the original OGs of the nuclear bomb could take out everything he likes. His house, his boat, his hideaway cabin, I mean, wtf? The motherfucker is killing and his soldiers are raping innocent civilians for nothing.

How does he even sleep at night knowing the damage he's doing to innocent people and he'll get nothing in return? There no monetary profit in what he's doing, except for the western bankers if a war kicks off.

So some high tech weapons make it to Ukranians, really they are just farmers. Why is Putin fucking with their sovereignty so?

If you don't think America's Army could kick the fuck out of the Russian Army, you're sadly mistaken. Let's hope him and Zelensky come to an agreement before that has to happen, k?

Obama has not weakened our military that much yet, motherfuckers. Maybe not the Marines, but the rest of the Armed Forces of America have superior tactics and equipment. Tier 1 Marine operators are OK.

And Americans know how to shoot better than any other country on this planet. AND have better guns.

Im sorry but to say Ukraine isn't a threat to Russia is a lie for the simple fact Ukraine is the platform for our war against Russia

we aren't even mouthing pro forma "peace hopes" anymore. it's war.
