    Default Kharkiv remains unbowed

The country's second largest city, Russian-speaking Kharkiv in eastern Ukraine is fighting like demons against Putin's army, despite being surrounded, besieged, and shelled.

^ It demostrates the duplicitous Vlad Putin was utterly mistaken that the Russian-speaking eastern Ukraine would welcome him as a glorious liberator.

    "Kharkiv Will Always Stand"

In the besieged northeastern city of Kharkiv, Mayor Igor Terekhov said the unrelenting assault has caused "massive destruction." A rocket strike hit the regional police headquarters, killing four people and wounding several others, Ukraine Emergency Services said.

Kharkiv is holding on and will hold on," Terekhov said on Ukrainian TV. "Today the main goal of our enemy is to sow panic and devastation, but Kharkiv will always stand."

Default Ukraine declares captured tanks tax exempt

Ukrainian authorities said captured Russian tanks wouldn't be counted as part of citizens' income.

They said that seized tanks and military equipment need not be declared for tax purposes.

They said such items would be considered a "manifestation of the unity and cohesion" of Ukrainians.

Of course they are fighting like demons for their country. They are a conservative and religious country as a whole.

Kharkiv is evidently not sufficiently grateful to Putin for his attempts at "liberation".

More than two weeks of Russian bombing have left Ukraine’s second-largest city in ruins. WSJ’s Yaroslav Trofimov reports from Kharkiv, where residents clear debris during the day and shelter underground at night

The Russian forces are retreating away from Kharkiv, and are now driven out of artillery range.

The invaders can no longer rain their shells down on Kharkiv with impunity. For the first time since Putin's war started, no artillery shells have fallen in Kharkiv the past several days.

The Ukrainian destruction of significant elements of a Russian motorized rifle brigade that tried to cross a pontoon bridge over the Siverskyi Donets River on May 11 has shocked prominent Russian milbloggers. Those bloggers have begun commenting on the incompetence of the Russian military to their hundreds of thousands of followers. The attempted river crossing showed a stunning lack of tactical sense as satellite images show (destroyed) Russian vehicles tightly bunched up at both ends of the (destroyed) bridge, clearly allowing Ukrainian artillerymen to kill hundreds and destroy scores of vehicles with concentrated strikes. The milbloggers who have hitherto been cheering on the Russian military criticized Russian armed forces leadership for failing to learn from experience in the war. They also expressed the concern that the constant pushing of Russia’s propaganda lines was making it hard for them to understand what was actually going on.

The same is true of constant pushing of Ukrainian propaganda. Fill the faithful's minds with victory mush and keep on selling the hardware.

I don't read Kremlin press releases like you do, and there is no independent media left in Russia that can report objectively on the war without facing prison time.

Agreed but you seem to only disbelieve the Ukraine propaganda. Fact is Ukraine is doing better than your perception and Russia is doing much worse. I’d say it’s a draw for now with Ukraine having defeated the Russians earlier objectives.
