I don't see how a hard drive could affect that. Are you sure there's no other causation?
I'm no mac expert, though, so I can't help you very much.

Yo, dood. Since I got my latest hard drive, iphoto does not provide any sound on imported movies and thus neither does imovie. I need your huge, young brain to fix this for me. I'll send you a coconut.
Thanks.

I'm guessing that a lot of the programs and upgrades you used to use were downloaded specifically onto the old hard drive. Macs are much more insular than PCs (which is one of the top 5 reasons you Mac lovers exist), so my guess is you still have a lot of downloading to do. Probably most of your upgrades and downloads are still on your other harddrive.
*Note that I know shit out computers, and am using some pretty basic knowledge to advise you with...

Yeah.
Well, that wouldn't effect Iphoto. If it were a hard drive problem, nothing would function. It wouldn't choose a very specific part of Iphoto to disable.

Did you install the hard drive yourself?
Excellence is an art won by training and habituation. We do not act rightly because we have virtue or excellence, but rather we have those because we have acted rightly. We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit.

Believe nothing on the faith of traditions, even though they have been held in honor for many generations and in diverse places. Do not believe a thing because many people speak of it. Do not believe on the faith of the sages of the past. Do not believe what you yourself have imagined, persuading yourself that a God inspires you. Believe nothing on the sole authority of your masters and priests. After examination, believe what you yourself have tested and found to be reasonable, and conform your conduct thereto.
