Most dramatically, Fillmore's bill would require the legislature to hold a special session after an election to review election processes and results, and to "accept or reject the election results."

Awesome. The very first blatant "we no longer care about democracy or elections" legislation from the right (though there have been a lot of more subtle measures).

This is how Saddam Hussein got "elected" for years. Way to go, America.

So Republicans want the government to have the right to reverse elections... Why even have elections?

That's almost as insane as Democrats wanting what amounts to perpetual elections with no controls on them...

Exactly. I think they need to add a rider to this bill. All ballots shall be printed in the original Russian.

Disagree. Republicans deny their own fascism up one side and down the other. 24-7-365.

'Oh NO! Not US! Are you KIDDING???'

'That's just what the REAL America wants.'

Because, of course, they maintain that conservatives are 'the real America,' and that other Americans are somehow 'less American' than them.

Yes, those Founding Fathers wanted election after election. Republicans want one election that they get the results they want, and then nothing after that.

The Republicans are playing the same tricks that happen in Russia.

All the bitching for YEARS (from both sides) about low voter turnout, and suddenly now the (R)s are okay with that. Things that increase voter participation don't tend to favor them, so now they want to make voting as difficult and restrictive as possible. It's patently obvious that the proposed law stating you must vote in your own precinct is targeting college students who live on campus. Why them? They tend to be overwhelming against the QOP and for the (D)s.
