A Texas felon was facing federal firearms charges after allegedly selling a handgun to the Colleyville synagogue hostage suspect, Chad Meacham, U.S. attorney for the Northern District of Texas announced Wednesday.

Henry "Michael" Williams, 32, faces a federal charge of being a felon in possession of a firearm.

"Whether or not he knew of his buyer’s nefarious intent is largely irrelevant — felons cannot have guns, period", Meacham said in a statement.

Williams allegedly sold a pistol to Malik Faisal Akram, a 44-year-old Muslim who was on a watch list, on Jan. 13.

Akram then allegedly used the weapon to hold four people hostage for hours just two days later.

The gun serial number system is made to not work. Everything else in our society is allowed to be entered into a computer, but it is illegal to enter gun serial numbers into a computer. Even if the gun is supposedly stolen, it is illegal to enter the serial number into a computer.

Side note, could you imagine if the AAA lobbied to make it illegal to enter stolen car serial numbers? The AAA does not want to help car thieves. Why is the NRA so eager to help gun thieves?
