So a caveman didn't have the right to use the best weapon available at the time to defend himself?

Indians didn't have the right to guns to defend themselves? They should have just returned them back to the Army after they took them in battle from dead troops ...u are one goddamn fucking idiot

And Hitler agreed with u...Jews didn't have the right to guns to defend themself!

What gives you the right to deny a person a gun? By what power? Might makes Right? Tyranny of the Majority? "Fuck you, I got mine"?

Despite tardboy's many faults, the right of self-defense is implicit in the Second Amendment.

Some people parse the Constitution like others do the Bible, but the truth is there's a bigger picture than cherry-picking quotes as noted in the Congress.gov link about it below:

    https://constitutioncenter.org/inter...-ii/interps/99
Implicit in the debate between Federalists and Anti-Federalists were two shared assumptions. First, that the proposed new Constitution gave the federal government almost total legal authority over the army and militia. Second, that the federal government should not have any authority at all to disarm the citizenry. They disagreed only about whether an armed populace could adequately deter federal oppression.

The Second Amendment conceded nothing to the Anti-Federalists’ desire to sharply curtail the military power of the federal government, which would have required substantial changes in the original Constitution. Yet the Amendment was easily accepted because of widespread agreement that the federal government should not have the power to infringe the right of the people to keep and bear arms, any more than it should have the power to abridge the freedom of speech or prohibit the free exercise of religion.

Do you get attacked by a lot of bad guys regularly? In fact, just having a gun in your household greatly increases your chances of falling a victim of gun violence, it ain't those you don't know who are going to act you, but more so someone you know

I don’t have a gun, because as archives has said, a gun can also be used against you.

I personally know more people who have died by suicide or accidents than I know people who have died from home invasions or attacks on the street

So you think the government can do anything because they are the government?

Your racist projections are fascinating. Please bring them up on a race baiting thread.

Amazing it has taken this long, treating guns just as we do vehicles, especially liability requirements, and before the gun nuts begin, every Constitutional right can and is regulated, Second Amendment isn’t any different
its a miracle.....on one bold stroke San Jose has made murder obsolete........now they can finally get rid of that silly police department.....

Correct. Just like any weapon. It's perfectly fine that you don't have any guns in your house nor any other dangerous items that can possibly be used against you. That's not my choice yet you are advocating forcing your choice onto me. What gives you the right to force others to your will?
