No, Anchovies, you erroneously claimed that Buckhead as a "gated community" was trying to "start their own police force" and you guessed it was "illegal".

There's no law against a newly-chartered city establishing its own police force, is there, Anchovies?

"The Republican-majority state legislature, which just opened its 2022 session, is taking up proposed legislation this month for a referendum on Buckhead cityhood. Annexed to Atlanta in 1952, Buckhead has long been known as a hub of restaurants, bars and clubs and is home to large estates. The Georgia governor’s mansion is in Buckhead.

The lead sponsors of the bill for a Buckhead secession referendum are State Sen. Brandon Beach and Rep. Todd Jones, both Republicans who represent suburbs north of Atlanta."

I'm pretty sure the citizenry and the Chamber of Commerce would be glad to hear that, Anchovies.

Not a rhetorical question, you aren't familiar with Buckhead?

I’ve only been a couple of times myself but it’s arguably the center of black life in the country and having numerous classmates go to Morehouse and Spellman and stay out there I hear (on Facebook) about Buckhead and Atlanta all the time.

Wouldn't surprise me but very little does these days. Well maybe her buying a house in South Compton or Watts, that would with any doubt.

The three-bedroom, two-bath house, about 30 minutes from Atlanta, has an indoor swimming pool and a separate “RV shop” that can accommodate the repair of a mobile home or small aircraft, according to the real estate listing.

The Peach State retreat was purchased in January 2020 for $415,000.

That’s why the City doesn’t want them to leave. Major part of their tax base.
