Default Starbucks ends vaccine mandate after Supreme Court ruling

Starbucks is no longer requiring its U.S. workers to be vaccinated against COVID-19, reversing a policy it announced earlier this month.

In a memo sent Tuesday to employees, the Seattle coffee giant said it was responding to last week’s ruling by the U.S. Supreme Court. In a 6-3 vote, the court rejected the Biden administration’s plan to require vaccines or regular COVID testing at companies with more than 100 workers.

“We respect the court’s ruling and will comply,” Starbucks Chief Operating Officer John Culver wrote in the memo.

Starbucks’ reversal is among the most high-profile corporate actions in response to the Supreme Court ruling. Many other big companies, including Target, have been mum on their plans.

This has NOTHING to do with the Supreme Court decision. That's just a lie from Starbucks. The ruling applied to Biden's mandate. Private companies are free to require vaccines for their employees.

Starbucks responded to the mandate by complying with the mandate
Since the mandate is unConstitutional ( which was obvious) -they are no longer bound by the mandate hence they dropped the mandate.

Your argument is the wording they used about "comply" -they are "complying" in that they aren't bound to the mandate
It's not the clearest wording but their actions are clear enough..good for them.. one less fascist rule

Prior to the SCOTUS ruling that Biden's mandate was unconstitutional Starbuck's was REQUIRED by mandate to have its employees vaccinated. Now that the Biden mandate has been throw out by the Supreme Court ,Starbucks can do what they WANT to do. And they WANT to not require their employees to be vaccinated.

The Supreme Court did not rule that a company could not institute a vaccine mandate. Therefore Starbucks is lying when they say they are complying with the ruling. They are not. Is this really that hard for you?
