I don't disagree, but with Republicans trying to remove slavery from history classes, I can only imagine that trump will be remembered as the best POTUS in the history of the nation .

History books, at least for public school, tend to be pretty vague.

    That won't happen.

They hit high points. To avoid politics, they try to keep current events vague, but if Trump ends up in prison or the victim of militia assassination, it's worth talking about.

No one is trying to remove slavery from history books. That has always been taught. The "white privilege" stuff hasn't. because it's a farce.

There were black slaveowners, Indians owned slaves too. There were white Irish slaves.

Inconvenient facts for the pushers of critical race theory.

They had in-depth Florida history when I was in high school. That was a good class!

Similar to the white supremacists in Washington, you choose to mischaracterize the 1619 project that will be introduced into some school curriculums.

This issue predates the project. Not surprising is that Texas is always at the center of school textbook controversies.

Earlier this academic year, Roni Dean-Burren, a Houston mother, posted on Facebook in response to a passage in her ninth-grade son’s history book, which referred to slaves—not as slaves—but as “workers” and “immigrants.” The post went viral, influencing the publisher “to apologize, correct the caption and offer — free of charge — either stickers to cover it up or corrected copies of the book to schools that want to replace their old ones.” They did not issue a recall of the misleading, erroneous books.

Shove your commie propaganda right up your ass.

Any school system that allows 1619 project material does the children in it a disservice.

That's because Matt Dillon is a racist, dictator-supporting liar and a welcher.

Why? What are your objections to it, Matt? Can you give three reasons why I should agree with you about it?

    1) It lies by omission

    2) It is divisive and racist

    3) It has no place in lower education whatsoever, and its place in higher education is dubious at best.

Nazis hate the truth. I can tell by your sig, even though the original 'snowflakes' were white supremacists.

Even between some of the crafters there is mild disagreement.

The project looks to illustrate the first shipment of slaves to the U.S in 1619 as the nation's founding. I believe that aspect was removed.

Notice Lil' Hitler ignored the piece that predates the project?

    1) What is being omitted?

    2) Why is it divisive and racist?

    3) Since you can't explain #1 and #2, how can I agree with you on its place in education?

The 1619 Project, inaugurated with a special issue of The New York Times Magazine, challenges us to reframe U.S. history by marking the year when the first enslaved Africans arrived on Virginia soil as our nation's foundational date. Here you will find reading guides, activities, and other resources to bring The 1619 Project into your classroom. Wondering where to start? Dive into our Reading Guide.

This is purposely vague, and ironic.

Yes. Which is the current curriculum pushed by the white supremacists in Washington.

    3) It has no place in lower education whatsoever, and its place in higher education is dubious at best.
What has no place? You were asked to be specific.
