And Senator Toupee has no clue the spike in consumer prices is caused by supply chain shortages around shipping containers thanks to the global pandemic Paul was calling a hoax.

He also drinks his own piss.

But there is far less Covid-19 relief spending from Congress now, so wouldn't inflation start falling? If it does not start falling, then his claim is false.

Have you ever heard of feedback loops?
This illegal illegitimate regime that runs America is at fault...not me.... they do not represent me and I have long objected to their crimes against humanity.

    Wrong, actually.

The Fed says that the current inflation is no longer 'transitory'.

So… we should have sacrificed growth then? You can’t have it both ways. The reality is that the economy is incredibly strong. Rapid growth, rising wages and low unemployment. The alternative would have been to NOT put Americans back to work. Would that be better?

That is not what he said...that's what Republican know-nothings said.

What Powell actually said was this:

“I think what we missed about inflation,” Powell responded, “was we didn’t predict the supply-side problems, and those are highly unusual and very difficult, very non-linear, and it’s really hard to predict those things, but that’s really what we missed, and that’s why all of the professional forecasters had much lower inflation projections.”

Generally, the higher prices we’re seeing are related to the supply and demand imbalances that can be traced directly back to the pandemic and the reopening of the economy,” he said. “But it’s also the case that price increases have spread much more broadly in the recent few months across the economy, and I think the risk of higher inflation has increased.”
You didn't even fucking read the link YOU POSTED, numbnuts.

You like to play make-believe, don't ya?

So since you so stupidly burned your credibility here, I guess it's time for a new sock, right?

from what I know much of the money hasn't been spent yet ( not that it matters to Dems)
But everyone agrees inflation is here thru the year... hence the fed promises for rate increases

    Have a nice day.
He said it would last through the middle of next year. That is fairly transitory (depending on how we use that word).

Wow...you really freak out easily. You must not be a very happy person.

    1) the above was my mistake...I should have been clearer.

What I meant was that the inflation causes are now mostly NOT being caused by supply-side problems due to economic recovery from the Covid Depression.
But due to systemic weaknesses brought on by government lockdowns/Covid-19 meddling all over the world.

Which Powell - more or less - confirmed in the following:

'Generally, the higher prices we’re seeing are related to the supply and demand imbalances that can be traced directly back to the pandemic and the reopening of the economy,” he said. “But it’s also the case that price increases have spread much more broadly in the recent few months across the economy, and I think the risk of higher inflation has increased.

And (from a more recent article)...

'Powell expressed optimism that the widespread global supply chain bottlenecks that have contributed to rising inflation will ease later in 2022. However, he also acknowledged that lockdowns in China and other countries could worsen supply-chain problems, adding to inflationary risks.'
    https://www.investopedia.com/powell-...threat-5215721

Plus, the fact remains that if governments had not done MASSIVE lockdowns that DIRECTLY caused the Covid Depression in the first place? This inflation would not be here.

    2) finally, there is no factual evidence whatsoever that the lockdowns saved even one life.
And there is LOTS of opinions from experts that the lockdowns were fundamentally wrong.
    https://gbdeclaration.org/

    In other words?
The reason for ALL of these problems stems from the lefts obsession with lockdowns and government strangulation of basic, fundamental AND several Constitutional rights.

Once again - I am neither Dem nor Rep.
And I have had my jabs (largely because I have minor asthma).

BTW - how many people have you wished death to over political differences today, Pol?

    Have a nice day.

It was Powell that removed the word 'transitory'.

    No,

    A) I didn't freak out, you did

    B) I just held you accountable for completely fucking up your own argument by not reading your own sources.

and C) Don't be so defensive.

But that is precisely what Powell said literally in the article you linked to on this thread, dipshit.

This is why I don't respect Conservatives...none of you clowns can ever say what you mean the first time, then you shift the goalposts, redefine the parameters, change the subject of the debate, and then spout off like you planned it to go that way.

Stop. Just stop. You are not doing yourself any favors by using these poor tactics to make up for the intellectual gap that exists in your arguments.

    I am not being 'defensive'.
I simply clarified my point which I freely admit I did not state very well earlier.

And clearly - the fact that you openly wish for people to die in a painful way simply because you disagree with them on politics - makes you a rather emotionally unbalanced fellow/fellowess.
Plus, your posts have a definite '(for lack of a better word) 'insane' quality to them.

BTW - how many people have you wished death to over political differences today, Pol? Err...LV426?

    Have a nice day.
