Mitch McConnell calls Biden's speech 'incoherent' and 'beneath his office'
"How profoundly — profoundly — unpresidential," McConnell said Wednesday on Capitol Hill. "I've known, liked and personally respected Joe Biden for many years. I did not recognize the man at the podium yesterday."
....
McConnell said that Biden's speech is further proof of why the filibuster, which requires 60 votes to advance most legislation, should stand.
"You could not invent a better advertisement for the legislative filibuster than what we've just seen, a President abandoning rational persuasion for pure, pure, demagoguery," McConnell said. "A president shouting that 52 senators and millions of Americans are racist unless he gets whatever he wants is proving exactly why the framers built the Senate to check his power."
"This whole display is the best possible argument for preserving ... the Senate rules that extend deliberation, force bipartisan compromise, and let cooler heads prevail," he said. "It offers a perfect case study in why Senator Biden was right about the filibuster and President Biden is wrong."

Excellence is an art won by training and habituation. We do not act rightly because we have virtue or excellence, but rather we have those because we have acted rightly. We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit.

Believe nothing on the faith of traditions, even though they have been held in honor for many generations and in diverse places. Do not believe a thing because many people speak of it. Do not believe on the faith of the sages of the past. Do not believe what you yourself have imagined, persuading yourself that a God inspires you. Believe nothing on the sole authority of your masters and priests. After examination, believe what you yourself have tested and found to be reasonable, and conform your conduct thereto.

What McConnell objected to Biden saying:
“The mob was fed lies. They were provoked by the president and other powerful people.”
OH WAIT
That wasn't Joe Biden, that was Mitch McConnell on 1/7/21:
So beneath his office as Senator to say such incoherent things.
When I die, turn me into a brick and use me to cave in the skull of a fascist

McConnell (Uniparty-DC) is not fooling me any longer. He is a RINO, a Decepticon, and is not any better than a Democrat. He doesn't give a shit about Main Street; he represents his multinational corporate buddies instead.

If the Republicans retake the Senate, the moment any initiative they favor is filibustered, they will change the rules in an instant. McConnell and the Republican Party are shit stains on the body politic.
In any case, this thing has gone too far. There is almost no chance that the damage Trump, as leader of the Republicans, will ever be repaired. Their base was scum before he came along...he allowed that scum to come to the surface, and it can never cleaned up.
The experiment of The United States has failed in our lifetime. Our generation will be known in history as the generation that ended it.
I only hope that Trump ends up in prison before that all solidifies...and that he ends up in Hell after it does.
ON HIS WORST DAY, JOE BIDEN IS A BETTER PRESIDENT THAN TRUMP WAS ON HIS BEST DAY!

This Mitch McConnell?
"Senate GOP goes ‘nuclear’ on Supreme Court filibuster"
https://www.politico.com/story/2017/...-option-236937
"Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell moved to change the Senate rules after Democrats blocked Gorsuch's nomination minutes before, 55-45. All 52 Republicans then supported the vote to go nuclear, and Gorsuch subsequently advanced to a final confirmation vote with a simple majority."

He makes a very valid argument, and there are strong arguments about why we need the voting rights bill passed.
I agree on both sides, how long do we wait to make voting secure, easy and inclusive in the States that would limit voting? There are some issues that are important enough to do away with the filibusterer. I remember many Republicans being for changing the rules when "W" was president.
If he believes he gains moral authority by finally saying this about Trump, now that he is weak, he is WRONG.
