Inflation rose at the fastest pace in nearly four decades in December, as rapid price gains fueled consumer fears about the economy and sent President Biden's approval rating tumbling.

The consumer price index rose 7% in December from a year ago, according to a new Labor Department report released Wednesday, marking the fastest increase since June 1982, when inflation hit 7.1%. The CPI – which measures a bevy of goods ranging from gasoline and health care to groceries and rents – jumped 0.5% in the one-month period from November.

The reason we have a supply chain crisis has nothing to do with transportation costs and everything to do with the simple fact that the supply chain shortage is in SHIPPING CONTAINERS because for most of 2020 and 2021, shipping containers that would normally take consumer goods from China to America and back, instead carried PPE from America to countries like Cameroon. Then the containers just stayed there. So let's be clear...the supply chain crisis is because of the global response to COVID in 2020-21, and has nothing to do with the cost of transportation.
