OTOH, my general philosophy is to follow common sense. When the world's medical communities are pointing out the dangers and recommending a reasonable course of action then I'm inclined to take that advice since I'm not a doctor or a medical expert.

Sure, people make mistakes. I'm a retired pilot. I've made mistakes while flying and have seen the tragic results of mistakes others have made while flying. Regardless, I continue to support flying as one of the safest modes of transportation and advocated for safe operating procedures and regulations as an aviation safety rep for the last 20 years of my career.

Why would I think doctors, scientists and other experts are any different? They are doing their best and I'm fine with it.

Most of my professional friends are physicians, dentists and veterinarians. I’d estimate about a third never vaccinated and of the ones that did are like me. No booster.
One who did not vaccinate is an ER doc who’s seen many cases of COVID and was quite satisfied to have acquired natural immunity.
He told me he saw first hand the effectiveness of early therapeutics. Of course he tested himself constantly and as soon as he had a positive he started the therapy.

Agreed about trust. Trust is gained, in part, through education. Obviously it’s a two-way street and less bullshit from DC means people would be more likely to trust them.
