We took guns to school in our teenage high school years back in those days to go hunting after school and we didn't shoot anyone.
You could buy a gun from the Sears catalog and an M-1 Garand (a genuine military "assault weapon!") at the local hardware store.
I had 46 guns hanging on my bedroom walls from my grade school years until I moved out on my own. I never even thought about shooting anyone.
Most of my friends also had no problem getting a gun if they wanted to go hunting or sport shooting back in my HS years. They didn't shoot anyone.
Why do your kids kill other kids today when access to guns was so much easier back then than they are today? I'll tell you why. Responsibility and
respect for firearms is no longer taught in schools and in the home like it was when I was young. Guns aren't as "available" today as they were then.
Purchasers must pass a background check today when we didn't when we purchased a firearm when we were young. I was 18 when I purchased my
first rifle, 21 for my first handgun & concealed carry permit. I didn't need a background check. You say guns are more "available" today? I call you a liar.
Common sense is not a gift, it's a punishment because you have to deal with everyone who doesn't have it.
