The same person I voted for, likely, but that doesn’t make us all “creeps” or “nuts … or killers. This post says so much about what is wrong in this country.

He didn't have an arsenal and it was a 9mm pistol, which was legal to give, but illegal to let him use unsupervised. Obviously shooting up a school and murdering four people was completely out of line.

The parent's are culpable here. Just how much remains to be seen but I'm thinking it 15 years.

Parents? A huge percentage of the time there is a birthing person better known as a baby momma, and the sperm donor that is nowhere to be found except for a very brief monthly appearance to help collect the welfare check as he makes his rounds to his other baby momma's.
For that, we can all thank Lyndon Johnson who helped destroy the family unit.

yes it is. He was not wrapped very tightly and posted about shooting people. In the final analysis, they are kids. Now they are kids with weapons. We do not sell guns to kids because we do not think they are mature enough to handle a gun.
We always read people saying the gun is not a problem. This kid's parents could have said the same thing a week ago. Now they cannot. Everyone is a responsible gun owner until they are not. People die for this.

I shot my first gun when I was six. Was on an NRA father-son competition when I was 11 and had my first gun, a Christmas gift, at 12. It was a Browning BL-22 rifle for hunting squirrels and plinking. It stayed locked in my dad's gun cabinet unless I was cleaning it or we were going shooting.

At 17, east of Denver, my HS friend and I would would down the streets of our housing development without Ithaca Mod. 37 featherlite 12 gauge pumps to go dove hunting about a half mile from the development onto the prairie. Nowadays we'd have been taken down by police less than a hundred yards from our houses.

It's a different world today. Part of it, IMO, is that kids are forced to "succeed" right out of the box. They don't get a chance to grow up first. That's why people like Britney Spears, Lindsey Lohan and Michael Jackson end up losing control of themselves; too much too soon.

Yep. There was some question about that when I made the same claim.

More important is that the mother texted the kid about 'not getting caught' buying the ammo and plotting the murders.

I believe he took it from the gun safe. A little different, but not much. In both cases, a child with known psych issues had parents who didn't secure guns.

These fools are on the run. Now they'll be arrested and jailed while they await trial.

It's pretty hard to kill mass numbers with a tennis racket.

No sane person would give a gun to a troubled adolescent.

Of course, these parents have their own psych issues, so probably denied that their kid was troubled.
