Default The Supreme Court faces an existential crisis of legitimacy

Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor said it better than any of the court’s external critics. "Will this institution survive the stench this creates in the public perception, that the Constitution and its reading are just political acts?” she asked during oral arguments on Mississippi’s abortion law on Wednesday. “If people believe this is all politics, how will we survive? How will this court survive?”

    Default The Supreme Court’s pro-gun, pro-life problem

Please tell me: What can the words “pro-life” possibly mean when the same people who want to constrain abortion are eager to make it easier for Americans to obtain and carry deadly weapons?

How is it “pro-life” for a nation to accept school shootings as a routine part of our daily news feeds? Can it possibly be “pro-life” to pretend that because no law will ever end all such shootings, it’s not worth trying to pass anything that might at least make them less likely?

You are a putrid excuse as a poster. Trump broke down the walls between the branches of government and openly politicized the courts. The highest court in the land has lost its respect. The nominees lied about stare decisis. Kav had his alleged mind made up and his path determined. He lied about respecting past decisions. Trump made the courts, all of them he could, political and under the power of some very powerful people. The Roberts court is the most pro-corporate and anti-worker of all time. Biden should expand the court.

it survived the stench of the original decision which was based on nothing at all.
Mammacita Sonia has a rather inflated vision of how the public perceives the court and how it has opted to ignore the Constitution it swore to protect and defend.

we have laws that, if enforced, would have prevented or at least made them far harder to commit.

start holding mental health professionals accountable for failure to report patients that are a threat to themselves or others.

look at all these shooting sprees and in virtually all cases there was a mental health professional for whom the killer was a patient.

in the case of the Virginia Tech guy it was an employee of VaTech. he felt really bad but was he held accountable ? no...

    why not ?

address the REAL problem, not symptoms.

THE JOB OF THE SCOTUS IS TO UPHOLD THE US CONSTITUTION, NOT ABET THE LEFTISTS AGENDA.

PLEASE QUOTE THE TEXT FROM THE CONSTITUTION THAT GUARANTEES A "RIGHT" TO KILL THE UNBORN.....RIGHT HERE:

ROE v WADE WAS AN UNCONSTITUTIONAL, "POLITICAL" DECISION. ABORTION IS NOT "SPEECH" AS IT ASININELY CLAIMS.

The same way it has since they made political decisions in the past.
Excellence is an art won by training and habituation. We do not act rightly because we have virtue or excellence, but rather we have those because we have acted rightly. We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit.
    - -- Aristotle

Believe nothing on the faith of traditions, even though they have been held in honor for many generations and in diverse places. Do not believe a thing because many people speak of it. Do not believe on the faith of the sages of the past. Do not believe what you yourself have imagined, persuading yourself that a God inspires you. Believe nothing on the sole authority of your masters and priests. After examination, believe what you yourself have tested and found to be reasonable, and conform your conduct thereto.
    - -- The Buddha

It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it.
