Default Jan. 6 panel to vote on contempt against former DOJ official

WASHINGTON (AP) — The House panel investigating the Jan. 6 U.S. Capitol insurrection will vote on pursuing contempt charges against a former Justice Department official Wednesday as the committee aggressively seeks to gain answers about the violent attack by former President Donald Trump’s supporters.

The vote to pursue charges against Jeffrey Clark, a former Justice Department lawyer who aligned with Trump as he tried to overturn his election defeat, comes as Trump’s top aide at the time, chief of staff Mark Meadows, has agreed to cooperate with the panel on a limited basis. Clark appeared for a deposition last month but refused to answer any questions based on Trump’s legal efforts to block the committee’s investigation.

I just looked at the thread and missed BLM. Can you understand the thread?
Clark was a willing participant who would do anything Trump asked or told him to do. The law did not matter to him.

The law doesn't protect Proud Boys but protects BLM.

How about opposing scumbag criminals get charged based on what they did wrong, instead of letting many slide because of political alignment.

Completely false. I think it's a different body part you're scratching there, pal. The DOJ prosecutes crimes, not organizations. You should maybe take a class or read a book or something.

The peddlers of White privilege sure seem to be against White groups more.

(CNN)The House committee investigating the January 6 insurrection issued five new subpoenas on Tuesday targeting right-wing extremist groups that were involved in the attack, including the Oath Keepers and Proud Boys.

The subpoenas went to the Proud Boys and its leader Enrique Tarrio, as well as the Oath Keepers and its leader Stewart Rhodes. Dozens of members of both groups have been charged in the attack on the US Capitol, and prosecutors have said they conspired ahead of time to disrupt the Electoral College proceedings. (Tarrio and Rhodes have not been charged.)
The panel also subpoenaed Robert Patrick Lewis, chairman of 1st Amendment Praetorian, a group that the committee says provided security at "multiple rallies leading up to January 6."
"We believe the individuals and organizations we subpoenaed today have relevant information about how violence erupted at the Capitol and the preparation leading up to this violent attack," Rep. Bennie Thompson, the Mississippi Democrat who chairs the committee, said in a statement.
