Why would Israel fail if the US were to stop supporting that nation? They have a working economy and trade. They can always seek new trading partners. Israel's GDP currently is about $410 billion and total US aid amounts to about $3.8 billion or a bit less than 1% of Israel's annual GDP. I think they can survive without it.

It's a cultural thing. I trained Saudis to fly. Saudis and Italians were the worst students. Part of it is a technological thing, but there's a cultural philosophy too that seems to inhibit their learning to fly. There's a reason why a little country has been kicking their collective asses for over 70 years.
All the Euros were good except for Italy. Spaniards allowed me to practice my Spanish and pick up some choice phrases.
