I think a lot of JPP members have pulled the plug, which is out of the question for me.
My monthly cable bill is over three hundred bucks, but I can't give it up.
My broadband and land line come with it.

Anyway, if nobody's watching the new Dexter episodes on Showtime, there's no point bringing up the Donovan movie which is coming up soon.

Yeah, my wife and I are watching the new series.

Not bad...not great. Sorta like the original Dexter. So far, not as much killing and blood, but that seems a given for the future. Certainly not worth subscribing just to watch it, but if you are a subscriber, I'd say, "Give it a shot." MIchael C. Hall has a certain magnetism as Dexter that pulls you in.

The viscious serial killer is the sympathetic hero of the story.

You know how some people are pro-choice but I'm defined more as anti-life?

Here we have the fiction made with me in mind.

My dog was supposed to be named Dexter after this character.
There were four in the litter, two males and two females.

The breeder had buyers for one of the females and two of the males.
We had originally chosen a male.
The fourth potential buyer also wanted a male but a third wasn't avilable in this litter.

At five weeks, before we could bring the pup home, of course, we went to see them.
The male that we were supposed to get showed no interest in us at all.
When we held him, he wanted to be put back down.

When we held the unwanted female, she was all over us--licking us, chewing us, not wanting to be put down.

Instead of Dexter, we chose the avatar, and the breeder now had all four pups sold.

Three of them curled together back up in a ball. The avatar tried to climb out of the wading pool (used as a playpen) and follow us home.

I hope that Dexter, or whatever he actually came to be named, is living as good a life as the avatar.

I would say all parties chose wisely.

I absolutely HATED the way they ended it.
They should have left well enough alone.

A post that began with talking about serial killers.
And ended by talking about puppies.

Gotta be a first for me.

Liked Dexter, but couldn't get into Ray Donovan. It was just so bleak that it gradually wore me out.

I liked Ray Donovan a lot, but laughed at the amateurish efforts at Boston accents. They didn't even pronounce "Donovan" corresctly. A Bostonian would pronounce it "Dunivin."
In one episode, Bunchy actually referred to Abby as an "ant."
