    Default DeSantis backs the blue

Gov. Ron DeSantis spoke Monday afternoon from a Florida Highway Patrol office in Orlando.

The governor began by saying that the state of Florida will continue to support law enforcement, calling the push to defund law enforcement "one of the most destructive movements."

DeSantis went on to discuss his proposal to increase pay for law enforcement officers. He referred to the $1,000 bonus he built into last year's budget for every law enforcement officer.

"It showed the state of Florida supported the men and women in uniform, and that meant an awful lot," he said.

The governor said he intends to re-up the bonuses. DeSantis said he’s also proposing $73 million to increase the minimum pay for entry-level sworn state law enforcement officers by 20% and to increase veteran officer salaries by 25%.

He’s also proposing more than $100 million to increase pay for correctional officers and Dep. of Juvenile Justice Officers as well as $1.4 million to increase state Special Risk Firefighters salaries.

no known democrat called for defunding the police per se, liar. changing some duties untrained police have to others is not defunding them, such as dealing with minors and mentally ill people. duh.

but as far as his proposals to give more to cops and firefighters- GOOD. they are heroes, except for a small minority.

Rhonda Santis and Ironside Abbott actually have something in common with my baked penne and my baked ziti.

Upon close observation, the eyes can tell them apart,
but to the stomach, they're exactly the same.

He is a Communist, as he has the government of Florida mandates how companies operate their businesses, and snatches local control and centers it in Tallahassee. In Washington he would appropriate local control from States and center it in Washington. He would take authority away from private businesses and push his mandates on them.
