Default Lincoln Riley headed to USC

At least one of our members should be ecstatic.

Maybe USC will be really relevant in a year or two.

    What say you CaWacko?

I was on the computer yesterday morning killing my refresh button waiting for official word that we hired Matt Campbell and then this came out of left field. He should be able to crush recruiting in So Cal.

Now because we have to nit pick my one concern will be about the defense because it definitely wasn't OU's strength. Carroll and Saban were defensive guru's. Dabo has an offensive background but has Max Venable. Sounds like Riley is bringing Alex Grinch with him to be our DC. We'll see how that goes.

Right, having to go from Norman, Oklahoma to Las Angles, California is a real step down, his family is sure going to miss watching the wheat grow

Even though "cawacko" don't believe it, USC, regardless of who they hire or recruit, is never going to actually play for the national championship, being a private school they are never going to spend the money nor devote the resources that the half dozen or so perennial State schools do for that very purpose

Only if they go to where those people are doing that, I know you don't get out much, but a city of four million people ain't Mayberry

Ummmm... we just gave Riley a ten year $100+ million contract. You think we don't have the money? Forbes has a chart that shows the Universities with the most (undergrad) billionaires and 'SC was like fifth on the list. Point being, while we may not spend the exact same amount as Alabama the money will be there.

Pete Carroll had a great quote. When asked about all this money other schools were spending on fancy indoor practice facilities and why USC wasn't he responded "because its 70+ degrees every day here and gorgeous. We'll practice outside."

Never said the money wasn't there, a lot of schools have the money, they just can't or choose not to spend the amount needed to compete at that level

I'm not sure how you look at this signing, and all that Bohn has done as AD, and say we aren't willing to spend money.

(I'm an Oakland A's fan. I know what not spending money looks like, this isn't it.)

^This is why a lot of football players come from FL. That and nobody has pickup hockey games here.

It's like 2003-2005 never happened, or something.
