I think you misunderstand my disbelief in “assault” rifles. I couldn’t care less that someone has a dreaded fully auto rifle … or a Sherman tank for that matter. To each his own.

The rifle I refer to trading for when I was 13 was just a semi-auto 22 with a detachable magazine. Not plastic, black or scary looking. It wasn’t much different than what the Rittenhouse kid had, was it?
