Can you tell us, in your own words, why you think that Bill has not been approved by the House yet?

    Hello cawacko,

I can understand why you're bothered.

I think for myself instead of saying what you want me to say.

You keep trying to tell me how to post but you don't really want that.

If you control my replies to you and also your own comments then you are really just talking to yourself.

It is better that I think for myself and make my own comments how I see fit.

That way, you are actually having a real conversation where you don't know what the response from the other party will be.

    That makes it more interesting.

It would be boring if I simply said what you want me to say.

    It's better this way.

I never understood why you don't want to make any friends here. I've asked you multiple times to acknowledge our friendship but you won't be friends with anybody here.

We are all Americans who want the same basic things.

A prosperous nation, security, freedom, a chance at happiness.

I've got all that. I think you do too. I want to see other people enjoy what we have.

Politics is messy. The struggle for power in the USA is nasty. And what is being done with that power? Republicans are standing in the way of progress, supporting the greed of the super-rich. Democrats have some greedy people, too, also standing in the way of progress. There are 2 Democrats who are holding up the whole show. The OP thinks the thing to do is abandon the Democratic party and form a new progressive party which will not be held back by two Democrats in power.

I don't think that can work any more than a breakaway conservative party could. Both have been talked about, but gain no traction.

The reason is that in order to build a new party on either side, one must first split one's own party and hand control to the other side.

No. The real way to power in America is to steer one of the major parties toward what you want.

Conservatives' challenge is to argue virtue to the Trump party.

Progressives' challenge is to argue big picture reality to those who do not get the big picture. The number one issue is climate change. The number two issue is the pandemic.

The Republican party power comes from hatred.

The Democratic party power is multi-issue, far more complicated, more difficult to argue, more challenging to compartmentalize because the Democratic party is so diverse and better representative of America.

    I know, right?

But when I try to argue for the American Anti-Corruption Act, nobody is interested. I don't get that. They don't like the corruption. Here is a clear way out of it, but they don't want to try because it takes too long. The whole process will likely take decades. It has already begun. I find it exciting. It's like women's suffrage. Does anybody realize how long that took? Look at how long it is taking to get legal pot. It is the battle of our times. We must solve corruption. Nothing else is possible until we do. And people can't be bothered. Maybe if it was on social media...

Thinking is so rumor-driven these days.

Why can't people think for themselves?

Why won't people look at the proposal and try to envision it in their minds?

It makes so much sense I can't see a logical objection.

But they always just say oh that won't work, while giving no real reason.

Here's the link again. You don't have to look at it right away. But when you think of it, now you know where it is. People on both sides like this:

    American Anti Corruption Act

    It is going to work.

It will work faster if more people just take a look. This needs to get talked about.

Everybody is so [instant gratification] these days.

What. We don't want to be a part of the solution because it might take decades? America isn't worth the effort?

Maybe. In 2016 trump was the exception to the rule but by 2018 people started to regain their senses after two years of his bungling.

    So,,,

This makes it OK to ignore the 800 lb gorilla solution to the corruption of people like Sinema and Machin?

    We. Must. Solve. Corruption.
