Default Russ Feingold: Americans no longer have faith in the US supreme court.

Nobody forced Justice Amy Coney Barrett to speak at an event hosted by Senator Mitch McConnell, the very senator responsible for jamming her confirmation through the Senate while a presidential election was under way. At this event, Justice Barrett was proudly introduced by Senator McConnell, and then quickly stated that her goal was to convince the audience that the justices are not just “political hacks”.

Such a claim of ethical clarity just isn’t credible when it is uttered on stage right next to the person most responsible for the partisan gamesmanship that packed the court.

It was a plan. They got a chance and jumped on it. They had their word and values to jettison, but it was easy for them. Moscow Mitch could barely keep from laughing when he broke his word.

what a joke both sides are
A sad commentary on we, as a people, and our viewpoint of our freedom can be summed up like this. We have liberals and conservatives, Democrats and Republicans, yet those very people look at Constitutionalists as radical and extreme.................so those liberals and conservatives, Democrats and Republicans must believe that the constitution is radical and extreme.

If it were not for the liberal wing she would not have needed to clarify. When so-called journalists have to edit deceased justices comments the hack label takes some meaning.

Not quite. If she had earned her seat in a fair process, she wouldn't be sucking McConnell's micro-penis in public. The current composition of the Supreme Court doesn't reflect the will and judicial leanings of the population because the Republican party acted obscenely and selfishly.

Left wing of the court issues have been around for decades before Judge Amy. And its impossible to gain a seat on that bench without the will of the people. Swing and a miss.

Just admit it, Ole Ruth should have been put out to pasture when Obama could have handled it.

Well, no, cracker. The Republican party misuses parliamentary tactics to distort the political process. The Democratic party lets them and doesn't do it back.

The Supreme Court was assembled legally, but it doesn't reflect the will of the people. You know that as well as I do and your contrary insistence gives me concerns about your personality.

Ginsburg did great things with her life and in her career. I can't say that she should have retired during Obama's presidency. I don't think her journey was over at that time. I realize this is a political board, but you really are an exceptionally disgusting type of political person.

Given the appointments that Republican presidents have made, only a total idiot would have faith in the supreme court.

Our ludicrous constitution created a government where a rural minority have far too much power given their percentage of the population.

As a result, we have the most socially regressive nation in the free world, or at least in the west.
Our rubes are not under the control of our more capable sophisticates and have the power to do the cultural and social damage that they routinely do.

As long as America remains in its current fifty state format, it's ongoing journey down history's toilet drain will not be impeded nor curtailed.
Partition is the only chance for some of us to attain civilized status. To this point, we don't seem to have even sniffed it.
Patriotism is the last refuge of a scoundrel. Samuel Johnson, 1775
Religion....is the opiate of the people. Karl Marx, 1848
Freedom's just another word for nothin' left to lose. Kris Kristofferson, 1969

The only people dead set against the current Supreme Court are Progressives on the Left. They hate the court right now because it isn't handing down verdicts in lockstep with their political views.
