Default House to aim to vote on infrastructure and reconciliation bills next week, Hoyer says

The House will “aim” to vote next week on the bipartisan infrastructure bill and the reconciliation package, majority leader Steny Hoyer said. House speaker Nancy Pelosi met with Joe Biden at the White House this morning, and she told reporters afterwards that she believed Democrats were nearing a deal on the reconciliation package.

Default Biden, top Dems strategize; Pelosi says deal ‘very possible’

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Joe Biden and Congress’ top two Democrats strategized Friday trying to wrap up their giant domestic legislation, as the party continued scaling back the measure and determining ways to pay for it ahead of new deadlines.

Biden had breakfast at the White House with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer joined in a call from New York. The leaders have been working with party moderates and progressives to shrink the once-$3.5 trillion, 10-year package of social services and climate change strategies to around $2 trillion, pushing for an agreement.

Pelosi said a deal is “very possible.”

She told reporters back at the Capitol that more than 90% of the package was agreed to — the climate change components of the bill “are resolved,” but outstanding questions remain on health care provisions.

Default Sinema’s Tax-Rate Blockade Prods Democrats Left Toward Billionaires’ Tax

“The irony is, with some of these alternatives that are coming out there, it may be the very business community that’s rushing to the barricades, saying, ‘Please, give us rates,’” Senator Mark Warner, Democrat of Virginia and a moderate on the Finance Committee, which is charged with drafting the tax plans.

This is what trump promised he could do, but could not. Biden is slowly, but surely getting his agenda done. Biden is a Jedi at getting legislation through Congress, and it is really showing.

demmycrats are apparently more concerned about changing the climate than they are changing health care......
