... but let's just ignore the fact that a shit ton of people have become infected with COVID yet have not developed diabetes of any sort...
I saw this particular fear mongering "study" posted on another forum and have decided to share it here for your amusement. Here is the link to the (fake) news article:

Wow, this really IS a "super virus"..........
Meanwhile, all I hear are crickets chirping when it comes to discussing EATING A HEALTHY SPECIES APPROPRIATE DIET (along with keeping busy and not sitting on one's ass in front of the TV constantly grazing on food like a cow, of which many people start to look like over time), which would quickly and significantly reduce the prevalence of diabetes in the States...

I gave up a long time ago attempting to exchange with posters who over the last two years have been telling us Covid was the common cold, Covid was nothing but the everyday flu, Covid was under control, Covid was going to disappear by June, Covid statistics were lying, hydroxychloroquine was the answer for Covid, Lysol, neon lights, etc., etc., etc., and they preached them all authoritatively

Yep, the long haul can trigger a form of diabetes. https://answers.childrenshospital.or...etes-covid-19/
I didn't appeal to the link in any way, MORON... I simply shared its existence with the forum so that people could check out for themselves the precise news story that I was referring to in my OP. The link and its contents have absolutely no bearing on anything that I typed out in my OP.
I did, MORON... Did you even read my OP?
Mockery is not an argument, dude.
Yet here you are, inserting your drivel into my thread without addressing any point that I made in my OP... Typical dumbass liberal...
You know DAMN WELL that I never once claimed this, liar.
COVID is similar in severity to the everyday flu.
There is no need to "control" it. It exists. Deal with it.
You know DAMN WELL that I never once claimed this, liar. COVID is part of the viral landscape and is here to stay. Deal with it.
The people behind those numbers are being paid good money to lie.
Hydroxy is a viable treatment option for COVID... so is ivermectin... so are monoclonal antibody treatments...
You know DAMN WELL that I never once claimed this, liar.
The only authoritarian here is YOU...
Have anything of relevance to say or are you just here to derail like pretty much any lefty who participates in a thread is here for??

Here's some thoughts from the experts.
"Researchers are observing a new long-term health concern in patients hospitalized with COVID-19 — an increase in new-onset hyperglycemia lasting months after infection. An Italian study found that about half of the patients admitted to the hospital for COVID-19 during the start of the pandemic had new cases of hyperglycemia, or high levels of blood sugar. They also had poorer outcomes.
“These people were not diabetic before,” says lead author Paolo Fiorina, MD, PhD, who is affiliated with the Division of Nephrology at Boston Children’s Hospital. “But during admission, about 46 percent of the patients were found to have new hyperglycemia.” While most cases resolved, about 35 percent of the newly hyperglycemic patients remained so at least six months after the infection."
