If you mean lead the way in COVID cases because they aren't taking precautions and regulating things, you'd be right. Sorry if your cheap overseas crap can't get here fast enough. Most foodstuff shortages are not connected to the ports though as they don't travel the ports.

Gosh. All the goods manufactured in South America are not in short supply. How's that South American smart phone working out for you? Is it smarter than you?

TX and FL will make moves to increase their port handling capacity. The governors of both states have made this commitment. CA will gradually lose their lock on goods coming from China as large companies like Amazon are looking into long haul aircraft to replace dockworker unions.

Ships coming to Port Miami or Port Everglades from China would have to go through the Panama Canal. Dat ain't cheap. I think it's about $100 per container. It can be
a few hundred thousand $$$$$ in tolls for some I'd imagine.
Abortion rights dogma can obscure human reason & harden the human heart so much that the same person who feels
empathy for animal suffering can lack compassion for unborn children who experience lethal violence and excruciating
    pain in abortion.

Unborn animals are protected in their nesting places, humans are not. To abort something is to end something
which has begun. To abort life is to end it.
