My wife directs a pre-school in the Bay Area. She is vaccinated (as am I). She largely wrote the COVID hand book for her school and did such a good job several of her peers asked to use it for their schools. She takes COVID very seriously. She did not vote for Trump. Yet she does not believe it should be mandated that kids get vaccinated. And you want to laugh at her? She wasn't in Sacramento but the media didn't come and talk to her. Again, nothing personal, but you really haven’t offered the reason you wife opposes the mandate

She wants to talk to more people she knows in the medical field to gain a level of comfort which she does not have now. I don't know if this is sexist or non P.C. to say today but she has the ultimate motherly instincts when it comes to protecting children, it's part of the reason she's so good at her job. She has her Master's in Early Childhood Development. This has been her passion. Therefore she knows that children are very diverse and have diverse needs. Thus the idea of a mandate for something new is not something she automatically is inclined to say "great" too without a lot further research and information.
