Yep, Mayor Lori Lighthead, or Lightfoot, or whatever that fool's name is is in a bad mood. Seems that somewhere upwards of 3,000 of her police force are refusing to get vaccinated and likely will be put on unpaid leave then fired come Monday.

She's freaking out that the police department will be crippled and can't understand why so many officers are refusing. She calls it an "insurrection." Sounds to me more like a strike that is protesting her idiotic handling and edicts of police action.

I spent so much time in Chicago as a kid/teen that it almost felt like home. In fact many now consider Rockford to be a suburb of Chicago. My wife likes to tell the story of one of our dates when I took her for a day riding around on the CTA, getting off at various spots so that I could show her stuff, not all tourist attractions either. She tells that narrative of me being a transit geek, but the reality was so much more than that.

What has happened to Chicago brings me great sadness.
