Default Pramila Jayapal Won’t Let the Biden Presidency Fail

Jayapal and other progressives argue, I think credibly, that this conventional wisdom is misguided. The reconciliation bill, otherwise known as the Build Back Better Act, includes some of President Biden’s key campaign promises, which he, obviously, has an interest in enacting. “Build Back Better, the president’s agenda, the Democratic agenda, would have died had we not done what we did,” said Jayapal.

Speaking of the Build Back Better agenda, she said, “I would argue that had Democrats done some of these things 10 years ago, we would have a lot of the working-class voters that are white in Republican districts.”

Can't say it is doing all that well at the moment

What the young progressives don't understand is that this Congress isn't one like prior major reform Democrat Presidents enjoyed, Democrats have only like a five seat advantage in the House and technically a one vote majority in the Senate, not the makeup needed to go big, they all have to compromise if they want to get anything passed. Not getting any legislation thru will spell their doom in 2022 and turn the reigns over to the little jimmy jordans next year

Progressives are fighting for Biden's agenda. You would oppose President Biden if you oppose the progressives.

Nobody is opposing anyone, just pointing out that the current Congress make up demands pragmatism if anything is to get done, and not getting something done is kissing Congress bye in 2022 and consequently Biden in 2024

Should be given demographics and history, but as we saw in 2020, anything associated with Trump defies history, and sure as hell Trump's name is going to be thrown around in every contest

Yep, and that's an excellent reason to oppose this bastard of a buttfucking plan...

Democrats bad? Nah. Progressives and Leftists are bad. Yes, many are Democrats but that's secondary to them being Progressives and Leftists.

Irony is that although the biggest critics of the proposal are those on the right as we see here, they are helpless to oppose or stop it, if the Democrats reach a compromise among themselves it becomes law

They need 60 votes or to dump the filibuster... That's for starters. They have about a year left to do it in.

I don't think they can get Manchin or Sinema on board with it either, even watered down.

Also, even if it does pass, it's going to quickly be another nail in the Democrat coffin in 2022. That bill is a total porker and is going to hurt the economy and raise inflation further.
