I have to admit, I've always viewed Halloween as a pain in the ass.
Don't see the need for it.
Plus my dad died on Halloween, although I'm not one to contrive a significance or meaning to everything,

However, my dog loves Halloween. She thinks that the kids are coming to see her and gets all excited.
She loves kids. It's one of the things that we DON'T have in common. [I'm not into sniffing asses, either.]

Well, we don't get too many in this neighborhood, but we get some,
and as long as the dog gets a kick out of it,
I suppose we can at least tolerate it.
Plus we can eat the candy that's left.

Halloween is my second fav holiday, I have been less than pleased as I watch the Left of which I am a part work diligently to kill it.

This boils down to the New Puritans discomfort with fun.
